Integrated Life Counseling Center is comprised of several Minnesota state licensed therapists. Our practice is located in a naturesque setting in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, just 1 1/2 miles east of 694.

What should I bring to my first session

Please bring your insurance card and photo identification.  Your therapist will make copies of these.

What should I expect in my first session?

our therapist will discuss your goals for therapy with you.  You will also have a few brief assessments to complete.  Information will be gathered by your therapist, such as a brief history, your symptoms and other information relevant to your mental health.  Finally, your therapist will discuss treatment options with you, in preparation for later treatment planning.

What should I do if I have an emergency?

We do not provide crisis services. For crisis response call:

What happens when I arrive?

If there is nobody to greet you when you arrive, please have a seat in the waiting area. There may a clipboard on the desk with a few intake forms/assessments for you to fill out before your initial session.  Plan on arriving for this appointment 5-10 minutes ahead of time to fill them out. Feel free to make yourself a cup of tea or coffee. Your therapist will be with you at your appointment time.

Do I need to stay for my child’s therapy sessions?

A legal guardian must be present for the first two sessions of any minor client.  Parents of children under 16 are expected to stay on the premises.  Parents of clients ages 16 and older must first make arrangements with the therapist to be off-site.
