About
Joi has a passion to assist her clients to find healing, a renewed sense of purpose and to develop their best-self. In working with her clients, she utilizes a strength-based approach with the ultimate purpose of promoting healing and restoring hope. Through outpatient care she specializes in skill building, developing alternative perspectives and creating value-oriented goals. She both enjoys and is well-experienced in working with teens, adults, couples and families.
Education
Joi earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul with a double emphasis in Marriage and Family and Criminal Justice in 2003. She earned her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University in Eagan, Minnesota in 2006. Joi has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2010. In addition to other educational opportunities, she is trained and certified under the Adaptive Internal Relational Network (AIR) model with Applied EMDR Therapy Protocol focused on complex trauma. She is also an EMDRIA trained EMDR therapist.
